Job Description:
Deschutes River State Recreation Area Near The Dalles, Oregon, United States Do you have experience in Resource Conservation? Do you have experience with Project Oversight and use your professional skills to help preserve natural resources? If this sounds like you, come join our team as Park Ranger 3 and support one of Oregon's greatest resources - State Parks! The Deschutes River State Recreation Area is a tree-shaded, overnight oasis for campers and a gateway to the Lower Deschutes Wildlife Area that begins just over a mile south of the park.
The Deschutes River converges with the Columbia at this hub for hiking, mountain biking, camping, whitewater rafting and world-class steelhead and trout fishing.
This position falls under the classification Park Ranger 3.

What you will do:
The person in this position will coordinate activities across management unit boundaries and will mentor permanent and seasonal employees throughout the park region in specialized skills related to the maintenance and operations of OPRD programs and properties.

Qualifications:
Five years of visitor services experience (e.
g.
rule enforcement; interpretation such as education and environmental awareness programs; special events and activities; etc.
) AND/OR maintenance experience (e.
g.
, construction trades, landscaping); OR A Bachelor's degree in Park and Recreation Administration, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Studies or a related field and 2 years of visitor services experience (e.
g.
rule enforcement; interpretation such as education and environmental awareness programs; special events and activities; etc.
) AND/OR maintenance experience (e.
g.
, construction trades, landscaping); OR An Associate's degree in Park and Recreation Administration or Natural Resource Management or Environmental Studies and 3.
5 years of visitor services experience (e.
g.
, rule enforcement; interpretation such as education and environmental awareness programs; special events and activities; etc.
) AND/OR maintenance experience (e.
g.
, construction trades, landscaping).
Special Requirements:
To be hired, you must have a criminal records and driving records check that meets OPRD Criteria at the time of hire, and throughout employment.

Public Employee Retirement System (PERS) eligible employees will have their base salary increased by 6.
